Today’s Poetry Practice

Welcome to the last weekend of January! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to post for today, so I decided to write a brief poem. I return to the third week of school and work this week. This is the time of the year where I start to redefine my personal schedule and time management skills. I post blogs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This Wednesday’s brief blog is a book review and Fridays is another photo I took from last month.
By the way, I’ve slowly started to improve on my poetry practice. It’s not my best suit but I do practice writing a poem a week. I like adding a bit of improve and not relying on too much structure within my poems to have a more free form style. My high school education did not spend a lot of focus on poetry so there’s that to acknowledge as well.

The world goes on
Day after day.
What about that list, does it matter?
In the grand scheme of things, I do not know.
What do I want to do with my time, the stress piles up.
Cozy socks and hot chocolate aid my mind
My cat calms my anxiety.
For now I do what I can
In between meditations,
Breathing,
and relaxing.
I thank the divinities above for the relaxation.
Day by day,
I’ll get by and start to become healthier and move towards a less needy to-do list.
