Hello, from wherever you are reading this! With the first official week of the new year already complete, I have one final “reflection of 2017” blog here that I want to share quickly. If you haven’t yet, go check out my 2017 & 2018 resolutions blog! Oh, and the feature photo is of Felix, who passed away about a year ago. I adopted her around Fall of 2013.
This will be a quick blurb, that will allow me to share with you one of my favorite songs.
Ironically, I realized that this past year, 2017, had a major theme throughout the year, and applies quite well for 2018. I enjoy listening to all types of music, but I enjoy listening to Michael Bublé. I saw him in concert in 2013, and would love to go see him again in the future.
Michael Bublé’s 2013 song, It’s a Beautiful Day, is a song I use to just sing out of the purpose of singing. It wasn’t until the last two weeks of 2017, did I realize that the song was more personal than before. In 2017, I was able to make my way through my own life, as well preparing to move on from topic people and situations. For example, here are some fabulous lyrics that struck me the most in this song:
“It’s a beautiful day, the sun is up, the music’s playing
And even if it started raining
You won’t hear this boy complaining
‘Cause I’m glad that you’re the one that got away
It’s a beautiful day”
“This fire inside, it burns too bright
I don’t want to say “so long”, I just want to say ‘goodbye'”
Those lyrics are a part of the last lines of the main chorus, and specifically the pink colored lyrics relate to me so well. My depression has dimmed down in December, and I realized that those pink colored lyrics went well with how I am mentally feeling for last year and this year.
I tried looking over all my media to find the photo I took at the concert from 2013, but alas, no photo.
If you would like to listen to the song, the YouTube link to MB’s music video is right here. I am curious to see if this song is still the theme for 2018, when the end of this year comes around.
If you were to have a theme song for 2017 & 2018, what would your song be? Feel free to share the song via comments, or on all my available social media platforms!
New Year’s Cheers,
